Even Qëndrim Kryeziu calls for a complete renewal of the votes for PDK candidates

Qëndrim Kryeziu, a candidate representing the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), has formally lodged a complaint with the Electoral Panel for Complaints and Appeals (PZAP). The complaint specifically requests a comprehensive recount of the votes cast for the PDK’s deputy candidates. According to Kryeziu, the impetus for this request stems not from dissatisfaction with the overall election outcomes, but rather from data uncovered during the preliminary recounting procedures conducted by the Central Election Commission (KQZ).

Kryeziu detailed that during the recounting process involving 185 polling stations—which he estimates represent approximately 3.52 percent of the total votes received by the PDK—several errors were identified in the initial tally. These discrepancies led to the addition of 589 votes to the preliminary count. Based on this observed rate of error correction, Kryeziu calculated that if this trend were applied across the entirety of the vote tabulation, his final vote count could exceed 22,000 votes.

The filing of this complaint by Kryeziu underscores a focus on procedural verification of the votes. The PDK candidate asserts that the review is necessary to ensure the accuracy of the final results by addressing the variances noted during the recount. This action directs the electoral body to re-examine the initial count to validate the precise total of votes received by the party’s candidates.
