Family of Afrim Bunjaku Expresses Disappointment Following Banjska Verdict

Pristina – The Basic Court of Pristina today delivered life sentences to Blagoje Spasojeviq and Vladimir Toliqi for their roles in the September 24, 2023, terrorist attack in Banjska, Zvečan. Dushan Maksimoviq received a 30-year prison sentence as a result of the same incident. The verdict follows a lengthy legal process concerning the attack that resulted in the death of Kosovo police officer Afrim Bunjaku and injuries to three other officers.

Following the proceedings, Afrim Bunjaku’s sister, Fegjrie Behrami, voiced her dissatisfaction with the sentences imposed on Spasojeviq, Toliqi, and Maksimoviq. She emphasized the ongoing need for justice in the case, specifically calling for the prosecution of Milan Radoiçiq. The trial, which unfolded before the Basic Court, centered on the events surrounding the Banjska attack.

The court found the defendants responsible for the attack and its consequences. The family’s reaction highlights the continued impact of the tragedy on those affected and underscores the demand for a complete resolution to the case involving Afrim Bunjaku and the broader investigation into the Banjska incident. —
