The Municipality of Peja has continued its commitment to supporting local agricultural efforts through the distribution of essential farming machinery. This initiative is being executed in partnership with the “Islamic Relief” – Kosovo Office, aiming to enhance the capabilities of local agricultural producers. At the SHFMU “28 Nëntori” yard in the village of Raushiq, a total of 18 rotocowers were distributed directly to beneficiary farmers.
This provision of equipment is designed to alleviate strenuous agricultural labor and significantly increase the productive capacity of the farming community. The distribution event was attended by notable local officials, including the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Peja, Fatmir Asllani, and the Director for Agriculture, Forestry, and Hydroeconomy, Tahir Shala. According to representatives from the Municipality of Peja, this project constitutes substantial support for the entire agricultural sector within the region.
The introduction of modern machinery is expected to contribute directly to the modernization of farming practices and boost overall production efficiency. Furthermore, the support aims to foster improved living and working conditions, thereby promoting sustainable development among the local farmers. The emphasis on providing tangible resources underscores Peja’s dedication to strengthening its primary economic sector.
By equipping local farmers with advanced tools, the municipality seeks to bolster self-sufficiency and ensure that the agricultural backbone of the community remains robust and competitive. This collaborative effort between municipal authorities and international aid organizations highlights a concerted strategy to advance the region’s agricultural sustainability.
