Fatal accidents dropped by 80 percent in the Ferizaj region during the first half of the year

The Ferizaj Regional Police has released communication safety statistics covering the first six months of 2026. The data indicates a reduction in the number of road accidents and a rise in punitive actions taken against individuals who violate traffic regulations, when compared to the same period in 2025. According to the official figures, a total of 823 traffic accidents were documented during the first half of this year.

This represents a decrease compared to the 947 accidents recorded during the corresponding six-month span of 2025, marking a reduction of 13.1 percent. Furthermore, a significant decline was observed in fatal accidents. During this reporting period, only one fatal accident resulting in one fatality was registered.

This is substantially lower than the five fatal accidents that claimed five lives in the first half of 2025, indicating an 80 percent decrease in this category. These statistics suggest a positive trend in road safety enforcement and compliance within the region. The data highlights not only the reduction in the overall number of accidents but also a marked improvement in the severity of incidents over the past year.

The increased punitive measures suggest heightened enforcement efforts by the police throughout the period.
