The Ministry of Defence in Albania issued an update regarding fire incidents, reporting that as of 8:00 PM on September 1, a total of 17 fire outbreaks had been recorded. Current operational data indicates that four incidents remain active, two are under monitoring, and eleven fires have been fully extinguished. To manage the escalating situation across the country, a significant response effort has been mobilized.
A total of 164 operational forces and 13 fire trucks were deployed to the affected areas. Furthermore, the Armed Forces provided substantial support, contributing 90 personnel and two helicopters to the ongoing relief and mitigation efforts throughout Albania. The four active sites are located in Dajt, Vajkal, Lundre, and Therepel.
In Dajt, efforts are currently focused in the direction of Qafë-Priska, with 68 personnel engaged, and authorities report no immediate risk to populated areas. At the Vajkal site in Bulqiza, the fire is progressing across rocky terrain, covering an area exceeding 13 hectares, and 48 forces are actively engaged, maintaining a safe distance from residences. Meanwhile, the situation in Lundre, within the Mat municipality, has been assessed as favorable.
Overall, the deployment of specialized resources reflects the ongoing commitment to controlling the outbreaks and ensuring public safety across the affected regions.
