Five reports of domestic violence were recorded in the last 24 hours, two people ended up at a police station.

North Macedonian Police Report Increase in Domestic Incidents

The Macedonian Police have reported a rise in domestic incidents over the past 24 hours, with five cases registered and two individuals taken into police custody. The incidents, spanning May 2nd and May 4th, 2026, involved alleged acts of violence and threats. On May 4th at 14:45, a 75-year-old woman contacted the Shkup Police Station, reporting an assault that occurred on May 3rd.

She stated that her son, S.G.j., and her husband had physically assaulted her, also damaging property within the residence. Later on May 4th at 15:45, a 19-year-old girl reported an assault to the Shkup Police Station. She detailed that on May 2nd, she and her mother were physically attacked by her father, Z.G.j.

Additionally, on May 4th at 07:05, a 30-year-old woman from Tetovo reported a threatening incident to the Tetovo Police Station. She stated that her ex-partner, S.K. from Skopje, followed and threatened her around 06:50 in Tetovo.

The police are investigating these reported incidents and gathering further information. All individuals involved have been taken into custody for questioning.
