The Municipality of Vushtrri has announced the postponement of the preliminary concerts scheduled for the “Diaspora Days 2026” event. This decision follows the recent passing of three community members: Ejup Tërnava, Cennet Tërnava, and Fatmire Shabani. In an official statement, Ferit Idrizi, the Mayor of the Municipality of Vushtrri, confirmed the cancellation of the preliminary concerts.
The Mayor stated that the measure was taken as an act of profound respect and solidarity with the families of the deceased. “Due to the tragic loss of three of our fellow citizens, we announce the cancellation of the preliminary concerts for the ‘Diaspora Days 2026’ event,” Idrizi wrote. Mayor Idrizi extended his deepest condolences to the Tërnava and Shabani families regarding the untimely passing of the three individuals.
He clarified that while the concerts will not proceed according to the original schedule, alternative arrangements will be made to host the event at a later date. The postponement reflects the community’s desire to observe a period of mourning and pay tribute to the lives lost. The municipality emphasized that the decision is purely commemorative, aiming to honor the memory of the citizens who passed away.
Officials stressed that the spirit and purpose of “Diaspora Days 2026” remain intact, and efforts are underway to reschedule the festivities once the community feels ready to resume normal activities.
