Ford Issues Recall for 1.4 Million F-150 Trucks
Ford Motor Company has announced a recall affecting approximately 1.4 million F-150 trucks. The recall centers on a potential issue with the vehicle’s six-speed automatic transmission. Investigations indicate the transmission may unintentionally downshift from sixth gear to second gear.
The affected vehicles include Ford F-150 trucks manufactured between 2015 and 2015. A total of 1,392,935 trucks are encompassed within this recall. Ford initially identified the problem in October 2024 and subsequently conducted investigations throughout November and December 2024.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) initiated a Preliminary Evaluation (PE) in February 2025, prompting further investigation by Ford. Despite these efforts, the issue was not fully resolved until April 7, 2025, at which point Ford secured approval to implement the recall. Ford is advising owners to contact a Ford dealership for further information and to schedule a repair if necessary.
The company emphasizes that this recall addresses a potential safety concern related to transmission performance in the F-150 trucks.
