Four Political Parties Miss Deadline for Parliamentary Candidate Lists
TIRANA – The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced Tuesday that four political parties had failed to submit candidate lists by the established deadline for upcoming parliamentary elections. The deadline, set for May 12th, concluded the 11-day period during which parties were required to formally declare their candidates. According to CEC spokesperson Valmir Elezi, the parties that missed the submission deadline were Yeniliçki Türk Haraket Partisi, Kosovski Savez, Partia Balliste – P.B, and Partia Qytetare për Mirëqenie Sociale.
These parties had previously informed the CEC of their intention to participate in the election process. Throughout the registration period, the CEC received candidate lists from 23 political subjects. This included 18 political parties, three coalitions, a civic initiative, and one independent candidate.
The CEC’s action underscores the importance of timely submissions for parties seeking to field candidates in the parliamentary race. Further details regarding the election process and candidate qualifications will be released by the Central Election Commission.
