Haxhiu speaks about the dismissals of former MPs who joined Osman: Citizens will evaluate their actions.

Acting Speaker Haxhiu Addresses Departure of Former MPs

Acting Speaker of Parliament, Albulena Haxhiu, addressed concerns regarding the recent movement of former MPs from GUXO who were previously part of the Vetëvendosje electoral list and have subsequently joined the Vjosa Osman and LDK campaign. Responding to questions about the potential impact of this shift, Haxhiu stated that the evaluation would ultimately rest with the citizens. “Now we are in an electoral process, therefore it is the citizens who will evaluate the actions of political parties or individuals within parties,” Haxhiu explained.

She referenced a previous instance, noting a similar situation occurred in December 2025 and will likely recur on June 7th. Haxhiu reiterated her long-held position that Kosovo does not require extraordinary elections. “I have repeatedly emphasized that the country does not need to go to extraordinary elections, but we should unite and elect the president…” she stated.

The acting speaker’s comments reflect the ongoing dynamic of the electoral campaign and highlight the role of public opinion in determining the country’s political trajectory. Who will ultimately be considered a factor remains to be seen as the June 7th election approaches.
