On the International Day of Persons Disappeared by Violence, observed on August 30, 2026, Atdhe Hetemi, Executive Director of IKKL, participated in commemorative events in Geneva. These activities were dedicated to honoring the memory of persons who have disappeared due to violence and supporting the families who continue to seek answers regarding the fate of their missing loved ones. Hetemi began his participation by attending the opening of the exhibition, “Still Waiting?”, created by artist Artan Korenica.
The exhibition was hosted at the Ferme de la Golette in Meyrin and was organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Kosovo in Geneva, in partnership with Jardin des disparus – The Garden of the Disappeared. Following the exhibition viewing, he joined the March for Justice, titled “As long as we remember, they live.” This march was organized by the Cultural Association “Dora d’Istria,” working with various partner associations and organizations. The procession commenced at a designated starting point in Geneva.
The day’s events provided a platform for remembrance and advocacy concerning the unresolved cases of disappeared persons. These commemorations in Geneva underscored the ongoing need for accountability and truth for the affected families.
