Kosovo authorities have conducted a two-year investigation that has led to significant developments concerning potential war crimes and the discovery of human remains. The inquiry initially resulted in the arrest of two individuals on suspicion of war crimes. The investigation’s focus recently shifted to an area in Zubin Potok, where initial excavations commenced at a site suspected of containing a mass grave.
Within days of the initial digging efforts, human remains were discovered at the primary location. Furthermore, this period of intense investigation led to the apprehension of another suspect for war crimes and the identification of a second area suspected of housing additional remains. Specific to the findings, excavations began on April 28 in Kalludër e Vogël, a mountain village within the northern municipality of Zubin Potok.
These efforts were launched following the comprehensive two-year investigation conducted by the Special Prosecutor’s Office of Kosovo. Separately, the scope of law enforcement activity included the arrest of a Kosovo citizen in Serbia on charges of espionage. These developments highlight the ongoing nature of the judicial process concerning historical allegations in the region.
