In connection with an operation codenamed “The Last Bastion,” authorities have made several arrests following an investigation into organized illegal gambling and various illicit activities within the Fushë-Krujë area. According to reports from the Police Oversight Agency, three individuals were taken into custody. Among those arrested is Lutfi Dervishi, a police officer who serves as a Community Policing Assistant Specialist in Fushë-Krujë.
Dervishi is suspected of abusing his official duties and playing a role in the organization of illegal gambling operations. During the execution of checks related to the investigation, law enforcement agents seized a variety of materials. These items reportedly included electronic equipment suspected of facilitating gambling activities, multiple computer servers, recording devices, mobile phones, and quantities of suspected narcotics.
Furthermore, authorities discovered 119 rounds of 9mm ammunition at the residence of the police officer. The scope of the operation suggests a coordinated effort by the police to dismantle organized criminal networks. Investigations into the full extent of the illegal gambling enterprise and the involvement of the arrested parties remain active.
