Speaker of Parliament Afrim Gashi is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting in Sofia tomorrow with Mihaela Milcheva Dotsova, the Speaker of the Bulgarian Parliament. This engagement is set within the framework of the ELP Cooperation Process conference, during which Gashi is also slated to deliver remarks. Speaking to journalists today, Gashi outlined the key discussion points for the upcoming talks, centering primarily on enhancing parliamentary cooperation.
He highlighted that, despite existing frameworks, intensive levels of collaboration remain an area needing development. Furthermore, Gashi addressed the topic of constitutional changes, confirming that he intends to reiterate the positions he has previously articulated. He clarified that these stated viewpoints represent a combination of the state’s official stance and his own personal perspective.
In his statements, Gashi emphasized a forward-looking approach to regional integration. He stated, “We must talk, we must move forward, and find a way to be together in the EU.” He conveyed a belief that the trajectory of the union should unite members rather than being defined by historical differences. Gashi concluded by noting that he approaches these discussions with a positive mindset, aiming to contribute actively to improving bilateral relations through robust institutional cooperation.
The planned discussions are expected to provide a platform for advancing dialogue between the two legislative bodies.
