Former Deputy of the Kosovo Parliament, Gani Geci, has announced his intention to file a criminal complaint with the Special Prosecutor’s Office of Kosovo. The complaint targets Albin Kurti, the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, and Deputy Albulena Haxhiu. Geci alleges that their actions, or inactions, constitute violations of the constitutional order and potentially involve elements of other criminal offenses.
In a public statement, Geci indicated that his concerns stem from the recent rulings of the Constitutional Court. Specifically, he referenced the decision issued in case KO124/25, alongside subsequent judicial determinations. He stated that based on these judicial findings, he suspects that the conduct of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Mr.
Kurti, and Ms. Haxhiu may have contravened the established constitutional framework of Kosovo. The core of Geci’s warning centers on the perceived failure to implement directives issued by the high court.
He asserted that the implications of the Constitutional Court’s ruling mandate adherence to the established constitutional principles. By filing the complaint, Geci intends to seek legal redress for what he views as a disregard for the rule of law as interpreted by the court. This move formalizes his belief that the actions taken by the named individuals warrant investigation under criminal law, citing the constitutional breach as the primary grounds for the complaint.
