Genesis continues its trajectory of growth more than a decade after its establishment, maintaining ambitious objectives for its future market presence. A key component of this strategic direction is the sub-brand, Magma, which was introduced over two years ago and appears to signify the brand’s emerging focus on high-performance vehicles. During an interview with CarSales Australia, Justin Douglass, Head of Genesis Motors Australia (GMA), addressed the brand’s development.
When questioned about the potential for Magma to eventually compete with models such as the AMG Black Series, Douglass affirmed that the brand is in a state of continuous evolution. He stated that “the possibilities are endless,” indicating robust potential for the division. Further insight was provided by Tim Rodgers, GMA’s product development manager.
Speaking to Telegrafi, Rodgers indicated that the possibility of such high-performance competition was an option, responding to the query with, “Why not, this is the answer, or no.” However, Rodgers did not offer definitive confirmation regarding the timeline or concrete plans for the sub-brand. He emphasized that while the brand’s trajectory suggests significant development, any specific commitments remain unconfirmed at this time. These statements underscore that the overall vision for Genesis involves aggressive expansion and capability enhancement through its specialized offerings, including Magma, as it solidifies its standing in the automotive sector.
