Ardian Gjini, the leader of the Alliance, has formally invited the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, to participate in a public debate. Gjini stated that the public should witness the discussion directly between the two political figures. During a press conference, Gjini emphasized the necessity of an open forum, arguing that discussions should not be confined to private meetings or selectively reported through photographs.
“I have called for this debate with all the people of Kosovo so that the entire public can hear what we are saying to each other,” Gjini declared. He stressed the importance of transparency over behind-the-scenes arrangements. Regarding the logistics of the event, Gjini suggested that the debate could take place on any television network and with any journalist selected by Kurti.
He maintained that the terms of the engagement should be entirely at the acting Prime Minister’s discretion. “Let him choose the studio, let him choose the journalist, let him choose the television, the time, the day, whatever he wants. Publicly, yes, the entire public should hear what we are saying,” Gjini asserted.
Gjini further elaborated at the press conference, noting that the party he leads is prepared to engage in this public debate to address matters directly with the electorate. The invitation aims to provide the citizens of Kosovo with an unfiltered opportunity to hear the differing perspectives presented by the leaders of the Alliance and the government.
