Ardian Gjini, the leader of the Alliance, addressed recent discussions between the Vetëvendosje Movement and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) regarding the formation of new institutions. Gjini suggested that the current political climate is leading the country toward the necessity of new elections. Speaking on “Debat Plus,” Gjini interpreted the stance of the incumbent Prime Minister, Albin Kurti.
He stated that Kurti’s message implies that failure to reach an agreement with the LDK leaves elections as the sole remaining alternative. Furthermore, Gjini alleged that the actions of Vetëvendosje are creating a challenging dynamic for the LDK. He suggested that the movement is simultaneously assisting the LDK while also placing the party in a position of division, all while encouraging talks aimed at institutional formation.
In his commentary, Gjini summarized the perceived message from the Prime Minister: “If we cannot do it with these people (the LDK), then we have no other option but to go to elections. At the same time, he is helping them (the LDK) so that…” This suggests a calculated political maneuvering designed to compel a resolution through the electoral process if current negotiations falter. The discourse centers on the political viability of forming a governing structure and the implications for the next set of national elections.
