Gjorgievski: Capital investments in Skopje will increase with the new budget rebalancing

The Mayor of Skopje, Orce Gjorgievski, announced that the rebalancing of the Skopje City budget has successfully passed a vote. Speaking on the financial adjustments, Gjorgievski addressed the city’s fiscal strategy, assuring residents that the modifications are designed to enhance municipal resources rather than incurring new debt. He emphasized that the plan involves redirecting existing capital investments and focusing all allocated funds toward the development of the city and its citizens.

Gjorgievski detailed the city’s commitment to sustained progress, outlining a clear vision for Skopje’s future development. A key element of the revised budget is the advancement of several significant infrastructure projects. Among these new initiatives is the construction of a major bridge and a connecting road designed to link the Gjorgje Petrovi area with Sarajevo, thereby establishing a new gateway into Skopje.

The funding allocated for this substantial infrastructure undertaking amounts to 420 million denars. The Mayor confirmed that these revisions reflect a proactive approach to urban growth. Gjorgievski stated that the budgetary adjustments are aimed at bolstering the city’s operational capacity while facilitating major civic improvements, solidifying the city’s trajectory through planned development.
