Gjorgjievski: The removal of unauthorized objects continues, the city train will start in September

Skopje Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski announced today that a formal tender process will commence for the comprehensive servicing of the Vodno cable car. Gjorgjievski confirmed that the facility will not resume operations until the conclusion of the current season. During his remarks, the mayor specified that the upcoming tender will mandate a complete servicing of the cable car system.

He stressed that the resumption of service is contingent upon the full completion of the revitalization work. Gjorgjievski stated that he would only permit the cable car to operate once he is certain of its safety, citing a commitment to prevent any risk to the lives of Skopje residents, particularly children. He warned against restarting operations before addressing past instances of service negligence.

The announcement was made in the context of broader discussions regarding public transport and capacity management within the city. Gjorgjievski indicated that details regarding the necessary tender process will be launched soon. The mayor’s directive underscores a commitment to public safety, prioritizing thorough refurbishment before allowing the cable car to serve the public again.

This proactive measure aims to ensure that the infrastructure meets modern safety standards before any commercial operation recommences.
