Gucati speaks about Rama, protests in Albania, and Drita Goxhaj

Hysni Gucati, the Chairman of the UÇK Veterans Organization, stated that the absence of a dedicated Law for War Values is creating an environment where unauthorized individuals can speak on behalf of the Kosovo Liberation Army. Furthermore, Gucati reiterated that the use of the UÇK flag and emblem is prohibited during protests or for political campaigns within Kosovo or Albania. During a recent press conference, Gucati addressed several questions from journalists concerning official statements made in Albania regarding former UÇK members, the appropriate use of the UÇK flag in protests, and the organizational response to current events.

When questioned specifically about allegations that former fighters were labeled “mercenaries,” Gucati stated that he had not heard Prime Minister Edi Rama use that specific terminology. He clarified that the discussion surrounding the matter stemmed from a misunderstanding concerning the names Tahir Sinanaj and Tahir Sinani. Gucati’s comments underscore the organization’s stance on maintaining control over the narrative surrounding the UÇK.

His directives regarding the use of the flag and emblems aim to prevent misappropriation of the symbols in public demonstrations and political mobilization efforts across both Kosovo and Albania. The statements serve to guide public discourse and maintain organizational discipline amid ongoing political activity.
