Kosovo Acting President Visits Mitrovica Families of Missing Persons

Mitrovica – Acting President of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, visited the Association of Families of Missing Persons on Tuesday, meeting with families who have lost loved ones during the conflict. The visit, accompanied by Deputy Arjeta Fejza, focused on addressing the ongoing concerns of those still awaiting information regarding the fate of 104 missing persons. The families expressed their continued distress and demands for answers concerning individuals killed violently in the Mitrovica Municipality.

“There are still 104 persons missing and killed violently, for whose fates families have no information,” Haxhiu stated. “This represents a significant wound for the families, for Mitrovica, and for all of Kosovo.”

Haxhiu reiterated the institutions’ responsibility to continue efforts to determine the fate of the missing individuals. She highlighted the persistent challenge posed by a lack of cooperation from Serbia in investigations.

The acting president emphasized the critical need for sustained commitment to uncovering the truth and bringing closure to the families affected. The meeting underscored the deep emotional impact on the families and the unresolved status of these cases within Kosovo.
