Police units from the Mitrovica North Police Station intervened early this morning after observing an incident involving an assault on “Zoran Gjingjiq” street around 2:00 AM. According to a statement released by the Kosovo Police, the police units responded to the scene and immediately apprehended the suspect. All involved parties were subsequently brought to the police station to undergo necessary procedures.
The victims present at the station declined any immediate medical treatment. During interviews conducted with the victims, it was reported that the suspect and the victims share a familial relationship. Furthermore, preliminary testing conducted on the suspect revealed a blood alcohol content reading of 1.06 promille.
Following the incident, the case has been formally reported to the State Prosecutor. In coordination with the prosecution, a case of ‘Domestic Violence’ has been initiated. The prompt action by the police ensured that the suspect was taken into custody, while the police maintained procedures to document the accounts of the victims.
The investigation remains active as authorities proceed with the established legal protocols.
