Leaders from various institutions in Kosovo paid respects at the Memorial Day of Fallen Police, commemorating 24 police officers who died while performing their duties. During the ceremony, the Deputy President of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, emphasized that the sacrifices made by the deceased police officers were integral to establishing the nation’s freedom and security. Speaking at the memorial dedicated to the 24 fallen officers, Haxhiu stated, “Today, on the Memorial Day of Fallen Police Officers, we paid tribute at the plaque of the 24 police officers who fell in the line of duty, bearing witness to the dedication to the Republic of Kosovo and its citizens.” She specifically acknowledged the service of police officers Enver Zymeri and Afrim Bunjaku, noting that their deaths occurred while defending the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and constitutionality of Kosovo.
“Among them are Enver Zymeri and Afrim Bunjak,” she added. The event served as a formal recognition of the commitment shown by the police force. The tribute underscored the deep regard held by Kosovo’s leadership for the service and ultimate sacrifice of these officers.
