Hezbollah refuses US arming of Israel

Hezbollah has rejected a ceasefire agreement that was reportedly supported by the United States concerning the conflict between Israel and Lebanon. According to reports from Telegrafi, the group issued a statement confirming the rejection to Lebanese President Joseph Aoun. Hezbollah stipulated that any acceptable agreement must first mandate a complete Israeli withdrawal from all Lebanese territory.

Furthermore, the organization outlined several other prerequisites for any future accord. These essential conditions include facilitating the return of displaced Lebanese residents, supporting reconstruction efforts across affected areas, and ensuring the release of Lebanese detainees. The report noted that the specific terms of the ceasefire agreement that Hezbollah rejected were not part of the negotiations the group was involved in.

It was previously reported that Israel and Lebanon had reached understandings regarding the implementation of certain measures. However, Hezbollah’s stated position emphasizes that Israeli withdrawal and the resolution of internal Lebanese concerns are non-negotiable prerequisites for any peace framework involving Israel.
