High temperatures, AUV calls for caution in food storage

The Food and Veterinary Agency has issued a warning concerning the proper storage of food items due to elevated temperatures. The agency has addressed both the general public and all economic operators involved in the food supply chain. The warning emphasizes that adherence to food safety standards is mandatory across every stage of the food process—including production, processing, storage, transport, warehousing, distribution, and trade.

Furthermore, gastronomic businesses that prepare food, such as restaurants, hotels, catering halls, markets, bakeries, kebab shops, and fast-food establishments, are explicitly directed to strictly comply with all legal requirements and established food safety conditions. Particular attention has been drawn to the current rise in temperatures. Consequently, all entities must ensure that food products are kept at the specific temperatures indicated on the product label.

The agency also stressed the necessity of conducting regular inspections of all cooling equipment to maintain safe handling practices throughout the supply chain.
