Hoti: Citizens Will Determine Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic Future

Kosovo’s upcoming June 7th parliamentary elections will be pivotal in determining the country’s relationship with the Euro-Atlantic partnership, according to former LDK Member of Parliament Avdullah Hoti. Speaking through a Facebook post, Hoti emphasized that the Stabilization-Association Agreement (SAA) and the Washington Agreement represent key issues for voters. Hoti stated that these agreements have been a central point of contention raised by the Vetëvendosje Movement.

He clarified that both the SAA and the Washington Agreement were previously signed during governments led by the LDK, with significant backing from coalition partners. These partnerships, Hoti asserted, were established to serve the best interests of Kosovo’s statehood. “The entire LDK is proud of the achievements secured alongside coalition partners in governing Kosovo,” Hoti wrote.

“I am particularly proud to have contributed to the negotiation and attainment of these historic agreements for Kosovo.”

The former MP’s comments reflect a position aligning with the LDK’s historical involvement in these agreements and a belief that the public will ultimately decide their future. The upcoming election is expected to be closely watched as it will shape Kosovo’s trajectory within the international community.

  1. It’s encouraging to see Kosovo’s future direction ultimately decided by its people at the ballot box.
