Eurostat data reveals a significant disparity in the adoption of digital methods for purchasing event tickets across Europe. Specifically, in the three months preceding 2025, only 8.6% of individuals in Albania purchased tickets for concerts, festivals, or other events online. This figure represents a substantial gap when compared to the European Union average, where 26.8% of citizens utilized the internet to secure event access.
Consequently, while over one in four EU residents use digital platforms for their tickets, the rate in Albania is reported to be less than one in eleven. The data also highlights a positive trend within the broader European market. Eurostat reports that the proportion of EU citizens buying tickets online increased by 3.8 percentage points compared to the previous year.
This growth is attributed to the wider expansion of digital ticketing platforms and the re-establishment of major cultural events across the continent. In terms of regional digital engagement, Albania’s usage rate places it behind neighboring countries, specifically ranking after Serbia and North Macedonia in the utilization of the internet for ticket purchases. The contrast between the low online purchasing rate in Albania and the robust, growing digital engagement seen across the EU underscores varying levels of integration into modern digital consumer habits for cultural events.
