Political analyst Ylli Hoxha has assessed that the current political negotiations within Kosovo may extend beyond the simple election of a president. According to Hoxha, the talks could necessitate reaching a broader, comprehensive political agreement designed to secure a functional parliamentary majority. He indicated that the most straightforward political scenario for the Vetëvendosje Movement would involve an accord with the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK). However, he cautioned that this path is currently complicated by observable divisions and internal dynamics within the LDK itself. Hoxha suggested that the momentum of the talks might therefore shift toward a wider compromise.
This compromise, he argued, would need to address not only the presidential selection but also the foundational structure of the parliamentary majority.
