Analyst Ilir Mirena has voiced significant concerns regarding the conduct of the current government, asserting a pattern of corruption and questionable practices. Speaking on Pressing, Mirena highlighted what he described as a substantial increase in misinformation circulating about Prime Minister Albin Kurti. Mirena stated that, aside from Kurti’s administration, no government has been characterized by such a high volume of “ministers with acquittals, scandals, and affairs.” He cited figures including four thousand single-source tenders as evidence of potential irregularities.
The analyst expressed skepticism, stating, “If there’s any stupidity to believe…”, and pointed to specific instances, including the provision of 30 company cars to Kurti and the ownership of a half-million-euro yacht. Mirena argued that these actions demonstrate a misuse of taxpayer funds. “If there believe that Kurti isn’t corrupt,” Mirena continued, “someone has given him a million euros in salary, he gets 30 company cars for himself, he has a half-million-euro yacht armored with which he ends with the money of taxpayers.
These are acts of stupidity, if they want to give them.”
Mirena’s comments reflect a critical assessment of the government’s transparency and financial management.
