The Municipality of Peja has initiated the distribution of agricultural machinery as part of its mechanization program designed to support local farming operations. This initiative is structured as a co-financing effort, requiring contributions from both the municipality and the participating farmers. The initial phase of the project was successfully completed this week, during which nineteen farmers received new tractors through a formal Public Call titled “Supply of Agricultural Machinery – Tractor.” The handover ceremony was attended by the Mayor of the Municipality of Peja, Gazmend Muhaxheri, and the Director of the Directorate for Agriculture, Forestry, and Hydroeconomy, Tahir Shala.
Both officials congratulated the beneficiaries and underscored the critical role that investment in the agricultural sector plays in regional development. During the event, Mayor Muhaxheri reaffirmed that agricultural mechanization remains a core priority for the municipality. He stated that these strategic investments are intended to achieve several key objectives for the farmers.
Foremost among these goals are increasing overall local production capacity, facilitating the modernization of existing farms, and significantly improving the efficiency of agricultural practices within the region. The distribution of these tractors represents a tangible effort by the Peja administration to bolster the capacity of its farming community.
