Instagram for TV expands into a major television brand in the US

Instagram has expanded the availability of its dedicated TV application across various platforms. Initially launched a decade ago, the instagram for TV application was first accessible on Amazon Fire TV devices in the United States. Following this initial rollout, the application was expanded to support Google TV devices in June.

More recently, Instagram announced its availability on Samsung TVs in the US, supporting models from 2020 and newer. Beyond the hardware expansion, Instagram is also testing new features designed to enhance the user experience for discovering, sharing, and enjoying content with others. These updates include the ability to organize content channels based on specific user interests, such as comedy, sports, or content from favorite creators.

Furthermore, the application now allows users to stream Reels directly from their mobile phones to their television screens. These additions aim to provide a more integrated and seamless viewing experience across different devices, solidifying Instagram’s presence in the television entertainment sector.
