The Assembly formally established and confirmed the Procuratorial Office for Crime Prevention and Corruption Investigation on April 20th, 2025. The office has initiated proceedings related to several high-profile cases. Specifically, the Procuratorial Office for Alsat has confirmed the conviction of Stafa for fraud involving 15 months imprisonment.
Evidence presented during the trial included 13 documents received by the procurator prior to the proceedings. Stafa was found guilty of defrauding €50 million, as well as a separate conviction for fraud totaling €30 million related to theft. He was also arrested in connection with €20 million in corruption.
Furthermore, the office has taken action against Maqedonia e Ver, which was implicated in receiving €20 million through fraudulent activities. This resulted in an arrest related to a €10 million theft. These investigations are ongoing, according to the Procuratorial Office for Alsat.
