ISHP: Protection measures from weapons must be respected

The Institute of Public Health (ISHP) has issued an appeal to the public regarding anticipated high temperatures expected to persist through August 7. Citizens are strongly advised to adhere to established heatwave protection guidelines, paying particular attention to the period between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM, as this timeframe presents a significantly high risk of sun exposure. The ISHP notes that the body’s ability to regulate temperature becomes compromised when ambient air temperatures approach or exceed the normal human body temperature of approximately 36.7°C.

Furthermore, the situation is compounded when the relative humidity of the surrounding air is high. This combination slows the rate of sweat evaporation, making the body’s natural cooling process significantly more difficult. When the body struggles to maintain proper temperature balance, individuals may experience a range of adverse symptoms.

These can include feelings of generalized weakness, dry mouth, dizziness, excessive perspiration, dry skin, and various types of discomfort or pain. Therefore, the public is urged to take proactive measures. Staying hydrated and limiting prolonged exposure during peak heat hours are critical recommendations.

Monitoring local forecasts and respecting the advisories issued by the ISHP remains essential for community safety during this period of high thermal stress.
