Israeli forces killed the Hezbollah commander in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli military confirmed on Wednesday the death of a high-ranking Hezbollah official in Beirut. Israeli naval forces undertook an operation within the city, resulting in the elimination of Hajj Yusuf Yusuf Ismail Hashem. Hashem served as the commander of Hezbollah’s Southern Front.

According to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), as reported by Telegrafi, Hashem was responsible for orchestrating terrorist activities specifically aimed at Israeli civilians. Furthermore, he directed military operations against Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon. The Israeli army asserted that Hashem’s role was crucial within the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s Southern operations.

This action follows the death of his predecessor, Ali Karaki, who was killed in a previous Israeli attack in Beirut during September 2024, alongside former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. This represents a continuation of an intense campaign. The southern forces were central to these destabilizing efforts.
