VLEN Coalition Reaffirms Strategic Importance of Corridor 8 Project
The VLEN Coalition has issued a statement regarding the ongoing Corridor 8 project, asserting its strategic significance and independence from political influence. The coalition welcomed the final positions articulated by the Bulgarian Democratic Union of Integration (BDI), stating these align with VLEN’s previously held views. VLEN emphasized the need for the corridor’s realization to be conducted professionally, transparently, and ultimately, in the service of citizens and European integration.
“VLEN welcomes the latest ‘revelation’ of the Democratic Union for Integration regarding Corridor 8, which, although with a delay, confirms what WE have repeatedly said and demonstrated: this project will not stop and does not belong to anyone,” a VLEN representative stated. Following a period of conflicting statements and attempts to introduce political ambiguity, the coalition expressed encouragement that the opposition is now adopting positions consistent with VLEN’s stance.
