Ministry of Education Initiates Degree Annulment Process at Two Universities

Skopje – The Ministry of Education and Science (MASH), led by Minister Vesna Janevska, has initiated a formal process to annul degrees awarded at the Faculty of Philosophy in UKIM and the “International Slavic University.” The decision follows the identification of significant irregularities within the awarding of qualifications, as confirmed by Janevska. The Ministry has already reported the cases to the Public Prosecution Office for further investigation and potential legal action. Currently, eight degrees have been formally annulled from eight registrations at the Faculty of Philosophy, impacting a total of 17 students.

The affected students include individuals enrolled in both the second and third cycles of their studies. Some graduates have already completed their second-cycle qualifications, while others continue their studies at the third cycle level. Following the initial annulment at the faculty, the Ministry of Education will proceed to formally annul the remaining documentation for all eight students.

Janevska emphasized the faculty’s responsibility to complete the annulment process, ensuring a comprehensive resolution to the identified issues. The investigation remains ongoing, with the Public Prosecution Office leading the subsequent legal proceedings.
