Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) has issued a statement addressing recent reports concerning its electricity production capacities. KEK asserts that its current operations are aligned with the 2026 Electricity Energy Balance (BVEE), confirming that key units remain operational. Specifically, units A3 and A4 at the Kosovo A Thermal Power Plant, along with unit B2 at the Kosovo B Thermal Power Plant, are currently functioning.
Regarding the reports of unplanned outages, KEK clarified the status of its facilities. The temporary shutdown of unit A3 was attributed to the detection of leaks within the unit’s branch. KEK reported that following the completion of necessary technical works, unit A3 has resumed operation and is currently operating under stable conditions.
Furthermore, KEK provided details regarding scheduled maintenance. Unit A5 is undergoing a planned revision scheduled for August 1–10, 2026, which the corporation stated is consistent with annual planning cycles. KEK emphasized that its operational status is being managed according to established frameworks.
