KFOR Commander: Inflammatory rhetoric and disinformation remain security concerns in Kosovo

KFOR Commander, Turkish Major General Özkan Ulutaş, expressed concern over the security environment in Kosovo, specifically citing the rise of inflammatory rhetoric and the persistent dissemination of disinformation. According to Ulutaş, these developments pose risks to the stability of the region. He stated that due to the potential impact of such factors, KFOR maintains a vigilant and well-positioned presence across the entire territory of Kosovo.

“Inflammatory rhetoric and the continuous use of disinformation are among our concerns, considering the impact they can have on the security environment. For this reason, KFOR remains vigilant and well-positioned throughout Kosovo,” Ulutaş stated. Furthermore, the NATO force commander in Kosovo stressed that achieving long-term security cannot be accomplished solely through military measures.

The emphasis on non-military solutions suggests a focus on diplomatic or structural stability alongside the ongoing security monitoring provided by the multinational force. The continued presence of KFOR underscores the ongoing commitment to maintaining a stable and secure environment in the region while monitoring potential escalations stemming from public discourse and false information.
