The State Police have announced the arrest of the suspect in a fatal shooting incident that occurred yesterday afternoon in Korçë. Authorities apprehended K.S., a 20-year-old resident of the city, on suspicion of fatally shooting J.Z., a 21-year-old citizen, using a Kalashnikov firearm. The serious incident took place yesterday around 4:30 PM in neighborhood 15, located on “Viktor Eftimiu” street in Korçë.
According to police reports, the confrontation originated from a dispute among several citizens over what was described as minor disagreements. This conflict reportedly escalated rapidly, culminating in the use of a firearm. As a direct result of the violence, the 21-year-old victim, J.Z., passed away.
Following the shooting, the suspected perpetrator fled the immediate crime scene, prompting law enforcement services to launch an immediate search operation. The suspect was subsequently located and taken into custody near his own residence. Police investigations are ongoing to determine the full sequence of events that led to the fatal confrontation.
