‘King of Drops’ wears a 20-kilogram vest to break two world records

Austin Head, a fitness instructor based in New York, has set two new Guinness World Records following recent athletic feats. Originally from Kilgore, Texas, Head achieved these milestones while utilizing a substantial 20-kilogram weight-bearing vest. During his record attempts, Head demonstrated exceptional strength by completing 71 squats in one minute and an impressive 200 squats within a three-minute period, both while wearing the weighted vest.

These accomplishments secure him titles for the highest volume of squats recorded in both the one-minute and three-minute categories while incorporating the specified weight. These latest records add to Head’s existing accolades, which include previous world records set in 2024 for the greatest distance covered by squats over an hour and the highest number of squats recorded in a full hour. Beyond the athletic achievements, Head’s latest endeavors served a philanthropic purpose.

The record attempts successfully raised $3,200, with the funds designated for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights. His performance underscores a high level of physical conditioning, demonstrating remarkable endurance when performing squats under the added resistance of the kilogram vest.
