According to the data released by customs authorities, total customs imports recorded during the month reached 194.38 million euros. This figure reflects a notable 5.2% increase, representing an augmentation of over 9.6 million euros when compared to the corresponding period in the previous year.
Beyond tracking trade flows, the customs agency reported heightened operational activity in combating illicit trade. Authorities successfully seized 2,161 packages of drugs that were found to lack proper documentation and the official flag of the Republic of Kosovo. Furthermore, routine checks conducted at three separate locations within Pristina resulted in the confiscation of a total of 23,918 items.
The comprehensive report indicates that while economic activity saw an upward trend in imports throughout August, the customs service simultaneously maintained a rigorous focus on border security.
