Kosovo will be represented by a record number of athletes at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games

The Olympic Committee of Kosovo (OKK) has announced that Kosovo will participate in the 2026 Taranto Mediterranean Games with its largest delegation to date for the multi-sport event. The delegation will consist of 163 athletes, comprising 87 men and 76 women, who plan to compete across a total of 21 sports. The participation aims to represent Kosovo with distinction on the international stage.

A significant highlight of this participation will be Kosovo’s debut in four different team sports. The nation will field teams in football, with both the U21 men’s and U19 women’s squads. Additionally, Kosovo will compete in volleyball with both men’s and women’s competitions, and in handball across both male and female categories.

Furthermore, the 3×3 basketball event will feature participation from both male and female teams. This entry marks a notable increase in the scope of Kosovo’s involvement in the Mediterranean Games, building upon the success achieved at the previous two editions. The OKK’s preparations indicate a concerted effort to maximize Kosovo’s presence across diverse sporting disciplines.

The full contingent of athletes will be represented by the country in these multiple events, showcasing the breadth of sporting talent within Kosovo.
