The Regional Water Utility Company, “Prishtina,” has issued a notice regarding service disruptions stemming from an unplanned power outage at the Water Treatment Plant (ITU) located in Shkabaj. The utility reported that electricity service was interrupted earlier today around 11:00 AM, with no prior notification issued by KEDS. This sudden loss of power is anticipated to affect the consistent supply of water for several consumers.
Specifically, the service disruptions are expected to impact residents and businesses within the Municipality of Fushë Kosovë, as well as those located in the Kalabria neighborhood of Pristina. KRU “Prishtina” has communicated that, based on the current information, the restoration of electricity is expected by approximately 3:00 PM. The company emphasized that the operation of the entire water utility system is sensitive to electrical stability.
Intermittent power outages significantly affect the functioning of the treatment and distribution processes. Therefore, the utility advises consumers to anticipate potential fluctuations in water pressure and supply throughout the afternoon. Residents are advised to monitor official channels for updates regarding the resumption of normal services.
