Bedri Hamza participated in a meeting lasting an hour and fifteen minutes, where he met with Albin Kurti and Hekuran Murat. Separately, a subsequent meeting took place on Friday evening, involving Lumir Abdixhiku and Vjosa Osmani, which lasted over two hours. Following the conclusion of these discussions, parties expressed a degree of optimism regarding future cooperation, although they provided no concrete details about any potential agreements.
During the discussions, Albin Kurti emphasized the collective goal of avoiding new elections, stating there was both “readiness and will.” Lumir Abdixhiku, chairman of the LDK, added that the talks covered fundamental principles and programmatic ideas of mutual interest. Despite the expressed optimism, political experts remain cautious about the feasibility of an agreement. Ben Andoni noted the complexity, observing that while initial expectations might have rested with the PDK, attention has now shifted toward the LDK.
Basri Muja suggested that a cooperation between the LDK and VV could be more realistic, provided the parties could decouple the process of forming a government from the presidential election mandate. However, both experts identified internal political dynamics as the chief obstacle. Andoni pointed to the difficult position of Abdixhiku, suggesting internal unity within the LDK was paramount.
Muja echoed this, stating the main hurdle was the LDK’s capacity to reach a unified decision. Meanwhile, the process to constitution the Assembly continued through Saturday, marking the third day of the deadline set to conclude on August 8.
