Kurti Addresses Concerns Regarding Interfaith Relations in Kosovo
PRISHTINA, Kosovo – Prime Minister Albin Kurti addressed concerns surrounding religious and interfaith harmony within Kosovo on April 17, 2026, stating that Kosovo’s institutions are aware of ongoing efforts to undermine tolerance between religious communities. Kurti indicated that these attempts, sometimes originating from external sources, are being monitored closely. “We are aware that efforts are being made to undermine our religious harmony, even by external factors,” Kurti stated.
He characterized these actions as potentially stemming from either misinterpretation or unintentional errors, emphasizing the need for careful observation and direct engagement. Kurti stressed the importance of identifying the individuals or groups responsible for disrupting internal stability. “We must talk to them,” he said.
The Prime Minister asserted that past attempts to destabilize religious relations within Kosovo have consistently proven unsuccessful and will continue to do so. Regarding specific external influences, Kurti remained cautious, indicating a need to understand the motivations behind such actions. The focus, according to Kurti, remains on preserving the established framework for peaceful coexistence within Kosovo.
