Kusari-Lila and Rahimaj discuss economic development and the functionalization of industrial zones in Kamenicë

The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, convened a meeting with the Mayor of Kamenica, Kadri Rahimaj, to address critical aspects of local economic development and the operational status of the region’s industrial zones. Also participating in the discussion were Ilir Kërçeli, an elected Deputy of the Kosovo Assembly, and Edon Dermaku, the Director for Economic Development and Diaspora in the Municipality of Kamenica. The primary focus of the meeting was to thoroughly examine the prevailing challenges confronting the municipality and to identify avenues for strengthening the collaborative relationship between the Municipality of Kamenica and the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Innovation.

During the proceedings, a central concern raised was the administrative complexity resulting from the division of the areas of Kamenica and Ranillugë. Officials noted that this demarcation has created significant difficulties in the effective administration and management of existing industrial zones. Consequently, the participants stressed the necessity of reorganization and functional adjustments to optimize these key economic areas.

The dialogue underscored the shared commitment to fostering sustainable growth. The meeting served as a platform to map out strategies that could overcome current infrastructural and administrative hurdles, thereby maximizing the potential of local businesses and promoting robust economic activity throughout the region. The discussions highlighted that coordinated efforts between governmental bodies and local authorities are crucial for achieving comprehensive and stable development outcomes.
