The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has finalized a comprehensive review of the previous administration’s management practices. According to Minister of Culture and Tourism, Zoran Ljutkov, all identified irregularities and suspicions of misuse of funds have been formally submitted to the relevant judicial bodies. Ljutkov confirmed these details during an appearance on 4TV, addressing inquiries regarding accountability for past expenditures within the ministry.
Speaking on the matter, Ljutkov stated that upon assuming responsibility for the department, the Ministry was obligated to conduct a thorough analysis of the financial situation and document all observed deficiencies. He emphasized the scope of the review, noting, “When you take over a budget of nearly five billion denars, you must know what position you are starting from. Our duty was to conduct a comprehensive audit of what was done.”
The confirmation by Ljutkov indicates that the Ministry is taking steps to address past financial governance issues.
The submission of findings to judicial institutions suggests a formal process of accountability is underway regarding the stewardship of the department’s finances. This comprehensive audit aims to establish a clear record of expenditures and identify any discrepancies from the preceding management period.
