LSDM: Mickoski and Kocoska admit that the budget is empty, and the government is increasing the deficit

Finance Minister Gordana Koçoska asserted that the current budget lacks sufficient funds, directing criticism toward the LSDM. According to the LSDM, the entirety of the planned annual budgetary deficit was expended within the first six months of the year. The LSDM further stated that the government intends to increase the deficit through announced rebalancing measures, contradicting prior commitments to reduce it.

The LSDM characterized this development as an unsurprising confirmation of warnings issued since the beginning of the current government’s term. They suggested that the reality of the economy is evident to citizens by examining their personal finances. Instead of the portrayed status of a “third economy in Europe,” the LSDM argued that citizens are experiencing rising costs of living, a decline in purchasing power, and increasing apprehension regarding the economic future.

The statement concluded by criticizing the government’s narrative surrounding the financial situation.
