The Central Market Supervision Inspectorate (IQMT) conducted ongoing inspections within the market setting. These checks focused specifically on dairy and similar plant-based products, following a previous directive from the Food and Veterinary Agency (AUV) mandating the removal of certain items from the market in the Republic of Kosovo. The scope of the inspections covered the composition and labeling of these dairy and related goods.
On the morning of the reported activity, seven inspections were carried out across Class B and C markets located in the Pristina and Prizren regions. During these detailed checks, several products containing plant-based fat were identified. Subsequently, the IQMT ordered the removal of these identified products from the sales shelves.
The specific items withdrawn from the market during these comprehensive checks included: Holla Schmand, in the 400-gram size, and Holla Cooking Cream, in the 1-liter volume. These actions underscore the regulatory oversight maintained by the IQMT to ensure compliance regarding the composition and labeling of food items sold in the market.
